Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Scan Pilot handles scanned documents, imported files, app settings, and advertising through Google AdMob.
Last updated: June 19, 2026
Summary: Scan Pilot is designed as a local-first scanner. Your scans and PDFs are intended to stay on your device unless you choose to share, export, import, back up, or otherwise move them using iOS or another service. Scan Pilot may display ads through Google AdMob, which may process advertising-related data as described below.
1. Who we are
Scan Pilot is a mobile document scanner app from Cloud Ninjas. For privacy questions, contact support@cloudninjas.ca.
2. Documents, scans, and PDFs
Scan Pilot lets you scan documents, import images, import PDFs, create edited copies, add signatures or stamps, and organize files into folders.
- Scanned images, imported files, generated PDFs, folders, signatures, stamps, and draft data are intended to be stored locally on your device.
- Scan Pilot does not require an account to scan or save PDFs.
- When you use iOS sharing, Files, iCloud, email, Messages, AirDrop, cloud storage, or another app, your selected files may be handled by Apple or that third-party service according to their own privacy practices.
- Please avoid sending sensitive documents to support unless you are comfortable sharing them for troubleshooting.
3. App settings and local data
The app may store local settings such as default folder, folder names, recent PDFs, scan preferences, draft state, signature/stamp settings, and Safe/PIN-related settings. This information is used to make the app work and remember your choices.
4. Advertising with Google AdMob
Scan Pilot may use Google AdMob to show ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or receive data such as IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, app interactions, diagnostic information, crash logs, and performance data for purposes such as ad delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, and improving performance.
Depending on your region and settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Where required, you may be shown a consent prompt for advertising choices, including choices related to personalized ads.

5. Consent and regional privacy choices
In some regions, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google may require disclosures and consent for the use of cookies or local storage where legally required and for the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for ads personalization.
Depending on your location, device settings, and the app version, you may be able to manage ad choices through an in-app consent message, iOS privacy settings, or Google advertising controls.
6. Apple privacy controls
On iOS, Apple may ask for permission before allowing apps to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can manage tracking permissions in iOS Settings.
7. Safe folder and PIN
If you use a Safe or PIN feature, it is intended to help limit casual access inside the app. It is not a substitute for device-level security, encrypted backups, or secure storage practices. Use a strong device passcode and keep iOS up to date.
8. Children
Scan Pilot is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the app to submit personal information from children without appropriate permission.
9. Data retention
Local scans, PDFs, settings, and drafts remain on your device until you delete them, remove the app, clear app data, or move them using iOS or another service. Advertising-related data processed by Google is handled according to Google’s policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Scan Pilot changes. The “Last updated” date will be changed when the policy is revised.
